The bold colors and prints typical of mid-century style were the inspiration for this mod tablescape design. Approachable furnishings and color-blocked florals were the focal point of the tablescape with geometric patterns carried throughout the linen, invitation suite, lounge area, and overall decor. With the bride wearing a birdcage veil and tea-length dress, and the groom in a button up sweater, they exemplified mid-century style…And with the vespa providing a fun getaway for them both. – San Diego Style Weddings, Published April 2016
This was such a fun shoot to work on. As a team we wanted to provide our couples with a bold color palate complete with a variety of shapes to consider when planning the details of their wedding. So often we see more muted color palates, and we thought it would be fun to create something with an abundance of color.
Each of the vendors on this shoot provided one-of-a-kind contributions that really helped to tie the vision together. This session was captured at the picturesque Mount Palomar Winery located in Temecula, CA. With lush landscaping, intimate corners, a plush indoor bar and plenty of space for a large celebration, it was a no brainer to choose this location to have our vision come to life.
The table design included a variety of florals (Michael’s Flower Girl), one of a kind rentals including a collection of vases, trays, and chargers (Jake Duke Studios). Additionally, with the linens provided by Luxe Linen it really helped to tie everything together and draw out the vibrancy of what we envisioned.
The cake was also a fabulous addition to our shoot. Laura Marie’s Cakes designed a gorgeous yellow square shaped cake with a hand designed geometric finish. Additionally, Laura hand-crafted the florals added to the top tier of the cake. Amazing!
Jake Duke Studios also designed a mid-century lounge area perfect for guests and even formal portraits. Imagine having your very important family photos taken in this living-room design complete with a white fur rug, accent pillows, fresh flowers, a bright yellow couch and teal coffee table. Can I just keep everything for my house?!
Our beauty team, models and dress designer did such a beautiful job further enhancing our vision. Jaime Elyse Gowns custom designed the wedding dress to emulate mid-century style. Friar Tux Shop in Temecula, put together an appropriate and stylish ensemble for our groom including a skinny style black slack, and thin black tie. What really made the outfit come together though was his vibrant yellow sweater (my personal favorite!).
And finally, Wonderpin studio did an outstanding job beautifying our couple. Amanda (our bride) had perfectly teased hair and classic makeup including the uber famous winged eyeliner, light blush and a pop of color on her lips.
OH! And let’s not forget the vintage Vespa that was included in our shoot provided by Jake Duke. MFG Florals accented the scooter by adding additional flowers. LOVE!
As previously mentioned, this shoot was featured in the April edition of San Diego Style Weddings, and it actually made the Spring insert COVER! We are so proud and honored. You can view the digital magazine by clicking here. Additional images from our session can be viewed here.
