Boudoir portraits are among my most favorite sessions to shoot! I love the intimacy of them (which allows for some really unique and emotion provoking captures) and how the ladies that choose to do them spend so much time planning and preparing to create something either for themselves or their significant other. I personally feel like it is really empowering to engage in these kinds of sessions because it is something sweet for you to do for yourself, documents a time period of your life, and promotes confidence. So often we are shaming ourselves for our imperfections, and I believe these types of shoots help to squash those feelings. Not to mention that these sessions are a blast! Champagne, music, a fun location, and sometimes hair and make up, creates the ultimate girls day! YESSSS!
This boudoir session was lots of fun and some of these photos are among my most favorite that I have ever captured. For these portraits we did a combination of indoor and outdoor shots (which I thought was really neat and original!). For the images taken outside, you will note the lighting was really warm (golden hour) and the details crisp. For the interior shots, I aimed for really dramatic lighting in effort to evoke intimacy. I also feel the lighting helped to really accentuate the bride’s toned curves.
As you may have guessed, sharing the entire shoot isn’t quite possible (unless the client encourages it) simply because these are very delicate portraits and are often captured as a special gift for someone. So below are a few of the approved photos from the bride.

Noteworthy:
Location: Private Residence in Corona, CA
Attire: While note completely revealed here, the bride brought a variety of tasteful lingerie pieces as well as a comfy PJ set (which is show in the interior shots). When planning this kind of session, be sure to bring a plethora of choices from lingerie to PJs, and even articles of clothing from your significant other.
Hair/Makeup: Since this session is for you and is meant to be a rare occasion, I would suggest further pampering yourself by arranging to have your hair and makeup done. We do this in house with our preferred vendors, or you can schedule these appointments with your go-to professionals.
Poses: Posing can be very uncomfortable (in an almost funny way) when trying to accomplish “the shot.” Kudos to all the models out there! I say this because sometimes the most simple of looks are created in the most complicated ways. It is actually pretty entertaining from the model perspective (which I have done, and this is also feedback from past clients). Just remember to relax and have fun…the champagne helps too! 🙂
