Our Beauty in Bloom wedding inspiration shoot captured at The Hotel Temecula was recently published on Exquisite Wedding Magazine’s blog!
Here’s our write up including tips for your wedding or event, and where we drew our inspiration from…
Inspiration | 100% vintage including re-purposed décor that is over 100 years old, a gorgeous consignment wedding gown, and floral inspiration from the early 1900s including: rosemary and organic baby kale.
Details on Design | We wanted to design a wedding that is elegant and sophisticated yet didn’t have to be over the top. Our purpose in doing so is to show our brides that by looking past the ordinary, you can design a wedding that is classy, yet affordable, and to communicate that sometimes less is more. You never know what kind of neat pieces you will find at your local antique and thrift stores, or maybe even via your family heirlooms.
Vendor Choices + Contributions | The dishware used for the table setting actually belongs to the historic Hotel Temecula, which was built in 1883. The china that was carefully selected by the designer from Pure Lavish Events, is eclectic (each plate doesn’t have to match in our opinion) and has been used over the course of 100+ years. The venue boasts plenty of pieces including furniture and props that we were able to incorporate into our design. The table itself is also vintage, and complimented the place settings. We didn’t go over the top on filling every inch of the table, because the variety of colors from the china paired with the rustic wood table didn’t require additional accents. As previously mentioned, we used vintage china, wine glasses, dessert bowls, silverware, candlestick holders, a hand crochet runner and a simple, but beautiful floral design. Tre Fiori Florals actually researched flowers that were commonly used at weddings during that time period to make the feel even more authentic. In her research she found that bouquets were actually assembled using herbs from the garden and flowers that grew on their land.
For rentals from Signature Party Rentals, we did include the lilac goblets to add a pop of color to the setting (which paired well with the blooming Wisteria) and ivory napkins for the guests to use. For dessert, Laura Marie’s Cakes created a custom piping white cake, which was placed on a vintage stand and then a historic serving tray from the hotel dining room. She also added a wine glass between tiers to give the cake more height and dimension. Additionally, some flowers were incorporated to further accent the cake. We also included the “bundtinis” from Nothing Bundt Cakes to use as a delicious favor for the guests.
Paper Villa Stationery channeled the early 1900s by sifting thru some of the letters from the hotel’s mail room to design an invitation suite that felt like receiving a piece of history postmarked during a simpler time. She used parchment paper in which she hand burned to give the paper texture and an old-world feel. She chose a calligraphy font in effort to preserve the time period we emulated. She scanned old envelopes and letters to create a composite insert for the invitation’s envelope interior. As an added accent, she then folded and tied each invite with a white lace ribbon.
For our bride, her make-up included a dark purple smoky eye, eyelash extensions, a light magenta lip color and blush to highlight her bone structure. For hair, the style is elegant and pulled back which compliments the shape of the dress well. The dress we modeled was chosen specifically by Beverly Hills Bridal Exchange because of its silver and white intricate bead-work, peek-a-boo back, and overall classy dress design. The model wore the dress beautifully…in our opinion!
