Well, I am not sure where to even begin with this wedding…it was one for the books! It was such a privilege to be a part of Ivy + Clay’s June wedding in Dana Point, CA. The day went off without a hitch, their love was so captivating to capture, and the venue was perfection.
I tried my very best to narrow down the pictures to share, but I am not sure I did a great job. I need to learn to self-edit! With that being said, below is their love story in images in order of how the day unfolded. I highly encourage you to visit my Portfolio to view more moments from the day.
The beginning of our day started with the dress and detail shots…I love this part!
Then came the candid captures of the ladies getting ready…
Personally, I love when the bridesmaids help the bride put on her dress…it is such a classic and important moment.
Then of course the groom + groomsmen doing their final touches and sharing a few inside jokes before departing to the ceremony…
Ahhh…the Ceremony. This location was superb! It took place at a park over-looking Dana Point Harbor. And to add a little extra sweetness, the ground in which they stood on was a compass…perfectly complimenting their nautical theme! This location was so pretty that it need minimal decor.
Then came portrait time…
And my favorite part of the day…the Bride + Groom portraits! This session was so much fun. Ivy + Clay were up for anything, and we had pre-planned where to take their portraits so this part of the day was flawless. So many amazing moments! Wish I could share them all on here!
The Reception: Well, this venue is gorgeous! With panoramic views of the ocean and harbor, the sunset streaming through, tall ceilings, and plenty of room to dance, Dana Point Yacht Club is a perfect place to celebrate marriage!
This day was so perfect! A BIG congrats again to the happy couple!!!
Noteworthy:
Theme: Nautical. The couple chose this as their theme because Clay is about to embark on a new journey and will be attending a maritime academy in Michigan. Plus, they both love the ocean!
Colors: Navy blue, pink, and white
Notes on decor: They kept the decor minimal which worked so well because their venue locations for both the ceremony and reception didn’t need much. They were both naturally beautiful.
Florals: I really loved the bridesmaids bouquets of babies breath. I have never seen it done before, and one major plus (in my opinion) was that the flowers are strong and didn’t wilt or break off during the day.
