It was a beautiful Saturday wedding for Lexan + Ken! And we got so lucky that their day ended up cloud free and between two of our big storms. It was meant to be!
The morning of their special day started out at the Embassy Suites Brea where the first moments of the day happened…early morning Starbucks, the bride and her maids glamsquad helping them get ready, Lexan putting on her dress, the groom and his men getting wedding ready, and then before we knew it, it was time to depart for the church!
The ceremony took place at probably one of the most gorgeous Catholic churches around…Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove. (You know the big crystal looking one off the 22 kinda by Disneyland? Yup….that’s the one! 🙂 ) While at the church, Lexan + Ken were able to do their “first look” and gosh was it a sweet one! They both were so patient, yet excited/anxious and the embrace that took place after they first saw each other was too special for words! We also were lucky enough to get to capture most of the portraits during this time. Oh, and the wedding party was a BLAST!
Their ceremony was really beautiful and the atmosphere was picturesque! I don’t know if I mention this enough or not, but one of my favorite moments of the day is when the couple takes their first walk down the aisle as Mr. + Mrs. That is probably the happiest and most proud they feel all day and it usually makes for a great capture! I LOVE IT!
After the ceremony, we departed for the reception which was held at Black Gold Golf Course in Yorba Linda. We got there just in time to take a few sunset photos at the highest tee in Orange County. It was a bit chilly, but it was one of the highlights of the day in my opinion.
Their evening celebration was filled with so much love and so many special moments…such as the entire wedding party preparing a slideshow and giving a narrative while it took place, extremely heartfelt speeches by both the bride + groom’s fathers as well as their MOH and Best Man. They had a lot of family that flew in from all over the world to attend their day and to me that was just so special! One of my other favorite moments of the evening was when the entire ballroom would sing along to their favorite tunes. It was AWESOME! The DJ definitely knew all of the best songs to play!
The decor was also beautiful with shades of yellow, white/cream and gray. It included floral arrangements with all of their colors, they had a spectacular sweetheart table with a plush white love-seat, candlelight, a custom champagne bottle, and their last name in lights.
I am so happy that this was my first wedding of 2017. What a way to kick off the New Year! Here are a few of my favorite captures of the day. You can view more by clicking here.
