Summer weddings are in full bloom and with a wide array of venues and cities to choose from, sometimes it’s best to stick with a classic beach soiree. Jenni + Peter planned their wedding for July and the day couldn’t have been more perfect. It was sunny, warm and with just the right breeze – very accommodating for them and their guests that drove from near and far.
The day began with the traditional getting ready moments. The wedding party was cheerful, the bride and groom were excited and everyone was waiting in anticipation for the couple to say, “I do.”
Jenni, the bride, chose a gorgeous white flowy gown with custom lace detail throughout the dress. The top of her gown was fitted with a v-shape plunge neck and delicate lace and rhinestone back detail.
Peter, the groom, chose a brilliant shade of blue for his suit with satin trim detail. With accents of orange in his tie and handkerchief it helped the boutonniere to blend in beautifully.
In effort to calm nerves and to have an intimate moment, the couple elected to do a “first look.” The moment was so sweet and full of pure happiness.
One of my favorite details of the day was the bride’s bouquet. Can you say stunning?! It included an array of vibrant colors to compliment their color palette and even had baby kale added in to add texture.
The ceremony was decorated beautifully and included a few personal touches, which made it extra special. The arbor was covered in flowers and even included a candlelight gold chandelier to round out the design. The aisle was covered in a variety of flower petals, the seat ends had mason jar arrangements, and each seat end had a cylinder of additional flower petals to throw out as the bride and groom made their first walk as Mr. + Mrs.
The reception décor and ambiance also did not disappoint. First of all, let’s talk about the venue. Not only did it have a stunning outdoor space, the inside was floor to ceiling windows just like a green house. The natural light was perfection. Each table had a vibrant bouquet, a clear acrylic table number, a special photo of the couple, candlelight and a wood accent. So pretty!
We also broke away from the reception briefly to capture some sunset photos. What would a beach wedding be without golden hour portraits? What was extra memorable (and funny!) about this portion of the day is that us two photographers, one of the awesome wedding planners, and the bride + groom quickly jumped in their getaway car to sneak to the location only to find the getaway car’s battery had died! Oh no! Luckily, the groom is a car guru and got the car running in a jiffy. And then we were off!
Overall, this wedding was perfection. The color scheme was bright enough to cheer up anyone’s day; the couple was an absolute joy to work with and them team of vendors really out did themselves! This is what wedding dreams are made of.
