Hi! I am Allie Marion - an entrepreneur, wife and mom driven to create beautiful and meaningful things. For over 10 years it has been my honor and joy to call photography my profession.
I recently read an article about what successful people do everyday, and one of the mentions was that they analyze and plan their day in minutes and not hours. That caught my attention!
It got me thinking about what tasks can be done in a minute or less that will help increase your productivity. My mind was whirling with ideas.
So, what can you do in 60 seconds?
Clear off your desk – I don’t know about you, but when my desk is clear, my mind is clear and that allows me to zoom into productivity!
Refill your coffee (and even add in some froth!) – A little caffeine jolt goes a long way, and I love a warm cup of coffee or tea while I am working. Bring on the energy!
Step outside & breathe in some fresh air. No matter where you are, hopefully it doesn’t take more than a minute to get outside. Sometimes just feeling the warm sunlight on your skin or watching those raindrops fall (oh how I love the smell of rain!) is so invigorating, relaxing and also, by moving your body, you are creating flow. It’s a win all around!
Give your pet some lovin’! Animals are meant to make us happy. So give your pet some sugar and then use those endorphins to get things done.
Exercise! Drop and give me 50! Whether it is a push-up or you crunch it out, a little bit of exercise does a body good – AND it will be helpful when bathing suit season comes along. 😉
Send an email. Maintaining relationships is integral in our personal and professional life. So reach out and say “hello” to someone and let them know you are thinking of them. How many emails can you send in a minute?
Make a day-of to do list. What top 5 things do you want to accomplish today? Jot it down and then keep it visible. When the day is done and you’ve checked all of the boxes, you will feel great!
Get the mail and sort it. Getting mail organized and out of the way is a daily task that feels good when it is done!
Back-up. Take a moment to check and make sure all of your software is up to date, your desktop is organized and you schedule any computer updates for end of day. Your future self will thank you when all systems are operating at their finest.
Respond to your texts. Review your text list. Have you responded to everyone? Is the conversation complete? If so, delete it and free up space on your device and in your mind.
Diffuse or burn. Refreshing the air around you is healing. So turn your diffuser on or light your favorite candle.
Breathe. Take a few moments to breathe intentionally. Sometimes taking a few deep breaths makes all of the difference.
…And those are the top ideas that come to mind. While some may be slightly over a minute (ok, 90 seconds!), I hope it will still inspire you and help you to tackle your goals! What do you plan to do with a minute? Tell me in the comments below! I can’t wait to hear from you!
