We all look to Pinterest or Instagram when we plan life events. Whether it is your vacation, birthday party, home decor or in this case, wedding, we search and bookmark it all. We see the inspo from these images as innovating, fresh, and unique. So how do you help your BIG day rise to the occasion and be a beacon for others? Well, I have a few tips for you!
Tip #1: Connect your photographer to your coordinator. The more communication these two vendors have together, the better opportunity your photographer has to capture the elements of your day that are stand-out. Your coordinator will connect all of your vendors together which is a HUGE plus (and it alleviates a step for you). The more we can all work together on understanding your vision, the better chance we will have at pulling these elements together to create something truly unique! Your unique elements are what will captivate media attention.
Tip #2: Share your design mock-up with your camera crew. As your photographer, when I understand the elements of your day you are most excited & passionate about, that gives me direction and the ability to plan ahead of time to decide how to best document your day. For example, if there is a china set you and your fiance will be using at your sweetheart table (that you have planned the rest of your aesthetic around), let me know. I can work ahead of time to give this family heirloom a proper photoshoot, which will highlight how everything ties together and the meaning behind it all. One-of-a-kind items are eye-catching and will certainly garner media interest.
Tip #3: Mail your photographer your “Save the Date” & invitation suite. First of all, receiving snail mail is AWESOME, and secondly, by sending this ahead of time allows your photographer the opportunity to get creative at home with our styling kits and give your stationery a proper photoshoot. Publications LOVE the little details and stationery is a big component of this. So let’s ensure your paperiere gets it proper time to shine.
Tip #4: Get your vendors excited. The more we know and the more we are included in on your day, the more opportunity there is for creativity to flow. When you’re inspired and share your inspiration with us, the more gitty we get as well. You have intentionally chosen your creative team to work with you on your day, so utilize our skill sets to help compliment your vision. Again, this is another reason having a wedding coordinator is a bonus. They can help ensure we are all in the loop – because I totally understand how it may feel daunting to keep everyone in contact.
Note: At AM Studios, we send out a few questionnaires during your portrait planning process with us. These are meant to be fun to complete and help us tremendously when preparing for your BIG day!
