Today is our 9 year wedding anniversary. We should be in Santa Ynez on vacation drinking our way thru the wineries, but instead we had to postpone (#postponedontcancel) due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So, you know what I decided to do to celebrate and timestamp this truly unique time? I got my family ready, took out my camera and tripod and tested out the new trend of Porch Sessions. And let me tell you, it was a blast and felt so refreshing!
We didn’t prepare for this session like we normally would (hello hair and makeup please! And let’s not forget my nails.). We also didn’t get to go shopping for matching outfits, we didn’t get to dream up a fun location to shoot at, we didn’t have to plan at all. And guess what? IT WAS BEAUTIFUL.
I washed, spray painted (way too many grey hairs happening!), and curled my own hair. Right before camera time, Wesley decided to burn his face with the curling iron *palm smacks face* (I decided not to Photoshop his face because I wanted to remember the truths of the day). I grabbed whatever was clean (and sorta matchy) from our closets and we went for it.
And let me say it again, it was fun! It gave us something to do, we got outside, we played, we enjoyed and we will now have something to look back on and remember this pandemic in a positive way.
While I will never forget the newsworthy details of Coronavirus, I also want to remember the sweet moments. And those include hanging with my crew and enjoying our home and hood.
So, with that in mind, I would like to offer this type of session to you and yours. It will be short and sweet and we will keep our 6 ft distance at all times. I will be sanitized and guarded. I promise.
*Your session time will increase to 20 mins.
